Easter Seals Disability Services

Pony Express Riders of Iowa is a wonderful organization dedicated to raising funds for Easter Seals Iowa. 

In 1968, three men came up with the idea of a Pony Express-style ride to raise money for charity.  The founders, Stub Johnson, Leo Gray and Wayne Neilson of Spencer, raised $12,000 during the first ride in northwest Iowa. 

Success spurred them to expand the ride throughout the state the next year.  They called upon other horse owners and saddle clubs to get involved.  From this original ride came the birth of the Pony Express Riders of Iowa.
