Job Training and Employment Services

Easter Seals Iowa helps prepare people with disabilities for the workforce and opens employers' doors -- and minds -- to hiring people with disabilities. We offer job training and employment services through the following program, which is targeted to meet the employment needs of employers and people with disabilities.

employment center Employ Ability

Employ Ability is a prevocational internship program for individuals with disabilities.

Employ Ability will teach participants community safety skills, employability skills, and work skills.

Employ Ability prepares individuals with disabilities for competitive employment in the community.

Participants will work at various internship worksites; the work they do is unpaid.

Participants are available to work at a business according to the business's needs for up to five days a month.

Participants are available to learn and work in different areas as needed by businesses.

There are four participants and one staff. Participants will receive constant supervision, training, and support by the Easter Seals staff.Job training and employment services are funded in part with Polk County funds.
