Camp Sunnyside
Easter Seals Iowa was founded in 1926 as the Iowa Society for Crippled Children, and has earned a reputation as a leader in providing unique and responsive services to Iowans of all ages with disabilities.
Camp Sunnyside was built entirely by donated Union labor, and the first camping season was held in 1961. It is a place where children and adults with and without disabilities gather to enjoy themselves and explore all their potentials. Originally designed and built for seasonal usage, Camp Sunnyside is open year-round, offering Respite Weekends every other weekend along with the traditional summer camping season.
The Camp is nestled on 80 acres, just minutes from downtown Des Moines. Our campers enjoy swimming, boating, games, arts and crafts, and theme-based camping session ~ just to name a few!
